Adult Learning Service Bristol
The Adult Learning Service is managed by the Library Service, as part of Bristol City Council. It delivers a wide range of courses, across the city of Bristol, including Arts and Crafts, Music and Dance, Literature, ICT, Languages, Construction and Well Being. We regularly review the programme to respond to the demands of learners.
A large proportion of our 3000 learners are older learners, who come to the courses for social reasons and personal development. We have to ensure that the accommodation and teaching methods are appropriate for older people. Sometimes we offer classes specifically targeting the older learners e.g Exercise for Older People, but usually the classes are for all ages of adults.
